Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Occular features associated with bee sting includes conjunctivitis ,keratitis,cataract.iritis,involvement of optic nerve and retina.we present a rare case of sting causing cataract and exudative retinal detachment.
CASE REPORT:A 35 years old male patient came to the hospital with chief complaint of pain &sudden loss of vision in Right eye since 3 days.VA in right eye HM+ &in left eye 6/6. History of insect (honey bee) bite to right eye 3 days back. In Right eye, insect bite mark seen at temporal side, lens status is anterior capsular & posterior subcapsularopacification, in Retina greyish-white retinal reflex seen, vitreous is hazy & RD.RD & shifting fluid seen in USG.
DIAGNOSIS: Exudative RD in Right eye.
TREATMENT: systemic corticosteroids &external drainage of SRF.
CONCLUSION: In exudative RD management usually nonsurgical. Sometimes resolves spontaneously or needed systemic corticosteroid therapy& laser photocoagulation.
