Abstract

PURPOSE- To report a case of 50-year-old male with right upper eyelid capillary haemangioma who was successfully treated with upper lid mass excision biopsy under local anaesthesia.

METHOD- A 50-year-old male presented with right upper eyelid swelling since 1 month. B-scan proposed neoplastic etiology. He was treated by mas excision biopsy. Histopathological findings of biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of capillary haemangioma.

CONCLUSION- Capillary haemangiomas can be divided into congenital, infantile and acquired with infantile being most common and acquired presenting in adulthood being a rare occurrence. This case is being presented to highlight the occurrence of capillary haemangiomas in adults and need for its proper management as contrary to its counterpart acquired capillary haemangioma have little tendency to regress. Clinicohistopathological features and clinical presentation of these lesions are distinctive. Excision biopsy was curative with rare chance of recurrence.
