Abstract
The purpose of this video is to demonstrate and discuss the intra operative signs of selective anterior, equatorial and posterior zonular weakness, especially the novel ‘Radial PC sign’ and its management. It also presents selective zonular weakness in cadaveric eyes studied using the Apple Miyake view. If the anterior zonular support is weak , one may not notice phacodonesis but the radial wrinkles can be noted on anterior capsule while doing capsulorhexis as there is no counteraction from anterior zonules. If the posterior capsule follows the cortex, it indicates weak posterior zonular traction and hence PC Radial sign. Timely detection and appropriate management of selective anterior, equatorial and posterior zonular weakness can help to prevent complications and optimise anatomical and visual outcomes in Cataract surgery.
