Abstract
AIM: The study analyses outcomes of Manual SICS in PXF cases in terms of final visual outcomes and surgical complications. METHODS: It was prospective observational study of 1 year time period. History, UCVA, BCVA, Slit lamp biomicroscopy, IOP, Fundoscopy, Keratometry, A scan and specular microscopy was done. Follow-up on postoperative day 1, 1st month and 3rd month was done. RESULTS: There was a significant improvement in visual acuity during each postoperative visit compared to preoperative visual acuity. All Intraoperative and post-operative complications were noted. DISCUSSION: There was a slightly higher incidence of surgical complications in PXF eyes in comparison to non-PXF eyes. Good visual recovery and postoperative outcomes was noted. CONCLUSION: Manual SICS is a safe alternative in comparison to phacoemulsification despite a higher incidence of intraoperative and post-operative complications in advanced PXF cases.
