Abstract
Cataract has the major cause of blindness over the year. When a cataract become visually significant cataract surgery is only treatment. In the study attempt was made to do an observational comparative study of patient reported outcome and clinical outcome after cataract surgery by using Catquest- 9SF questionnaire.result-The mean age of the study population was 61.74+-8.23 y. catquest -9SF questionnaire completed before and after cataract surgery and it found to be statistically highly significant with a p- value of <0.001.post operative patient reported outcome and clinical outcome analysed we found that Catquest-9SF question daily activity item 1 recognise face of people correlation is significant at the 0.01 level . Study participants had a median preoperative clinical outcome log MAR 0.78 and postoperative median logMAR 0.18 (p- value <0.0001) Conclusion preoperative and postoperative patient reported outcome and clinical outcome showed highly significant improvement.
