Abstract

Purpose: To assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of ergonomics and musculoskeletal disorders(MSD) as an occupational hazard among Ophthalmologists in India .Methods:A survey was conducted among 150 Ophthalmolgists in India through Google questionnaire circulated through social media which contains questions for assessing the knowledge, attitude and practice of ergonomics and MSD among Ophthalmologists. The data was collected, analysed and interpreted.Results:85% of the Ophthalmologists had adequate knowledge and attitude towards ergonomics, however the practical application was not as satisfactory. Conclusion: The knowledge and attitude of ophthalmologists in India regarding ergonomics and musculoskeletal disorders as an occupational hazard is good overall, but the practice needs some improvement.
