Abstract
The prevalence of optic disc pit in South India is 0.04%.Acquired optic disc pit is associated with glaucoma or myopia. Congenital optic disc pit with glaucoma is rare.A 63 year old man who was already on Anti Glaucoma medication in LE,using Timolol eye drops once a day for 2 months, came to us for general examination.BCVA in RE 6/9P,LE 6/6.IOP RE 16,LE 20mmHg.Anterior segment findings were normal except for RE cataract LE Pseudophakia. Fundus exam showed a normal disc in RE and Disc Pit temporally with suspicious Inferior rim thinning in LE with cup disc ratio 0.7.OCT RFNL revealed an Optic disc pit in LE with Inferotemporal rim thinning. HFA showed Enlargement of Blind spot in LE and RE was normal. Patient was observed for 1 month without using AGM, IOP was RE-17,LE-16 mmHg. Patient was followed up for 6 months and there was no progression of glaucoma. In case of unilateral glaucomatous disc suspect , we should always have a differential of a disc anomaly.
