Abstract
48 year old female came with alleged history of foreign body(coconut leaf stalk) penetrating into medial canthus of right eye with c/o severe pain.On examination,right upper eyelid was edematous and large foreign body was present in the medial canthus with active bleeding.Vision in both eyes were 6/9p with no further improvement on pin hole.Foreign body removal and exploration was done under sterile precautions.Systemic antibiotics and steroids were started.USG B scan,Xray orbit and CT were done.No residual foreign body was seen and the globe was intact. Ocular penetrating injuries can result in severe vision loss. Penetrating injuries of the eye require immediate first aid and urgent treatment,particularly if there is a foreign body in the eye
