Abstract
We report two cases of inherited connective tissue disorders who presented with ocular injury following trivial trauma. An eight-year-old female child, known case of osteogenesis imperfecta type 4 presented with left eye globe rupture following eye rubbing. Surgical repair was extremely difficult due to cheese wiring. A successful repair was obtained with long bites, tissue glue, and a bandage contact lens. The best-corrected visual acuity improved to 6/36 in the left eye. The second child is a thirteen-year old female child, under evaluation for connective tissue disorder presented with pain and redness in the right eye. Ocular examination showed circumcorneal congestion, diffuse corneal edema, dispersed hyphema and elevated IOP. B-scan showed vitreous haemorrhage and attached retina. She was managed conservatively with steroids, cycloplegics and topical anti-glaucoma medications. The best corrected visual acuity in right eye was hand movements close to face and 6/24 in the left eye.
