Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Coats disease is idiopathic retinal telangiectasia. Associated with intraretinal or subretinal exudation and exudative RD. It is unilateral(95%) condition, seen in early childhood and male predominance(85%).
CASE REPORT: A 7 years old boy came to the hospital with chief complaint of outward deviation of left eye since 1 month. VA in Right eye 6/6 and Left eye PL+ve. In Left eye showed 20º exodeviation, yellowish-white reflex, sluggish pupil, multiple telangiectatic vessels and bullous exudative RD. RD and fluid shifting seen in USG
DIAGNOSIS: Coat’s disease – left eye.
TREATMENT: Intravitreal anti VEGF + cryotherapy + external drainage of subretinal fluid.
CONCLUSION: In Coat’s disease prognosis depends on the severity of disease and age of the patient. After treatment, follow up is necessary to check for recurrence of disease and involvement of the other eye.
