Abstract
Aim- to evaluate different ocular manifestations in patients after COVID-19 vaccination.
Materials and methods- Patients of age group 18-60 years, who were asymptomatic before vaccination but developed ocular symptoms after receiving 1st/2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine were evaluated between January 2021 to July 2021. Detailed eye examination was done in all patients. All findings were documented for statistical evaluation.
Results- Total 57 eyes of 31 patients with ocular symptoms were evaluated. Males had more symptoms (M:F = 2.87:1). Maximum findings were seen in age group 20-30 years. Ocular manifestations were- redness and itching (36.84%), conjunctival congestion (42.11%), watering (21.05%), periocular edema (8.7%), herpes zoster ophthalmicus (7.02%)and central serous chorioretinopathy (3.5%).
Conclusion- COVID-19 vaccination is currently under clinical trials so vaccine related ocular manifestations should be taken into consideration and serious side effects should be reported.
