Abstract
AIM To analyze the relative frequency of different Inherited Retinal dystrophies (IRD) with its clinical pattern rate in tertiary eye center in central india METHOD Its a retrospective cross-sectional descriptive study of 31 cases collected in 2 years . After a deatiled clinical & family history of consanguinity, type of inheritance , anterior segment evaluation was donewith slit lamp& posterior segment assessment with IDO and 20 D .Relevant. ERG,EOG& OCT were performed.RESULT Among 31IRD’s in 2 years RP 25(80%) was found commenest, 20-30% RP cases were syndromic. Frequency of other retinal dystrophies were Stargardt’s 2(6%), Leber’s disease1(3%), HMD 2(6%), Best disease 1(3%) . The prevalence of IRD was found as1 in every 500 CONCLUSION Owing to high IRD’s presenting in a tertiary center; a separate facility for genetic counseling, LVA’s deployment have become mandatory in early visual & psychological rehabilitation of patient further assisting in strengtening public health system
