Abstract
PURPOSE:To evaluate outcomes of treatment options forPost-LASIK ectasia(PLE)using an algorithm.METHODS:50 eyes of 46 patients with PLE underwent vision, tomography(Pentacam),biomechanical analysis(CorvisST)&collagen distribution assessment on PolarisationSensitiveOpticalCoherenceTomography(PS-OCT).Based on this algorithm was devised to categorise them into groups that underwent intracorneal ring segments(ICRS)implantation+topo-guided Photorefractivekeratectomy(TPRK)+crosslinking (CXL)(18eyes),ICRSimplantation+CXL(22eyes),TPRK+CXL(10eyes).Postoperative assessment was done at1,3,6&12months.RESULTS:There was significant(p<0.05)improvement inBCVA&reduction in Kmax(avg preop 58.8Dto post-op 52.3D)with increase in corneal stiffening postoperatively evident on biomechanics&PS-OCT. Spherical equivalent significantly reduced&remained stable during follow-up(P>0.05)in all groups. Results were comparable.CONCLUSION:Algorithm helped to approach&choose right procedure for PLE management.
