Abstract
In post COVID-19 recovery patients, there is sudden surge in Rhino-orbito-cerebral Mucormycosis (ROCM) cases nationwide due to immunologically and metabolically compromised status.
Aim: To describe and document retinal manifestations in ROCM cases by smart phone fundus photography in tertiary care centre of North India.
Material & methods: An analytic, cross-sectional and hospital based study was carried out in 200 admitted cases of ROCM. Detailed history and complete ocular examination was done including fundus examination and documentation by Smart phone fundus photography.
Results: Out of 200 patients, only 60 patients had retinal manifestations and most common was CRAO (35/60). Other retinal findings were combined vascular occlusion, disc pallor and optic atrophy.
Conclusion: Smart phone fundus photography is handy tool in documenting fundus findings in sick, immobile patients of ROCM which not only helps in categorizing it, but also tells visual potential of the affected eye.
