Abstract
Objective: To investigate inter device agreement in intraocular pressure(IOP) measurement in eyes post vitrectomy filled with either Silicon oil, C3F8, Fluid or Air.
Methodology: This cross sectional study comprised 50 eyes of 50 patients who underwent vitrectomy. Post op day 1 IOP was measured in order: iCare, Tonopen and GAT. Eyes with epithelial defects were excluded. Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) calculated for all subcategories.
Results: Mean IOP by Icare, Tonopen, and GAT were 19.6 ± 10.0, 18.9 ± 8.7, and 18.9 ± 9.7 mm Hg respectively (p=0.92). Agreement ICC b/w Icare and GAT (0.92), Tonopen and GAT (0.97), Icare and Tonopen (0.91) with p (0.001). Differences in IOP ≤ 3 mm Hg were in the eyes for Icare-Tonopen 62 % for Tonopen-GAT 68% and for Icare-GAT 66%.
Conclusion: All three tonometers give near accurate results in the IOP range 10-30 mm Hg in vitrectomized eye. >30 mm Hg Icare overestimates and Tonopen underestimates IOP.
