Abstract
Aim-A study on clinical profile, investigations and treatment -30 cases of Behcet’s Disease (BD) seen in a tertiary eye center .Method -A retrospective study of 30 cases of BD from 2000 to 2021 was done.
Results-Clinical profile -21 males (70%) more affected than 9 females (30%), panuveitis 53 %(n=16),occlusive vasculitis 30%(n=9),oral ulcer 33.3% (n=10), genital ulcer 3.3% (n=1) and both ulcers 13.3% (n=4) were seen. HLA typing found HLA B51-16.6% (N=5) ,HLA B5-10% (N=3) positivity.FFA showed capillary ferning ,capillary non perfusion areas (n=6). OCT detected CME in 16.65 % cases.Treatment-Cyclosporine 16.6%(N=5), Azathioprine 33.3% (N=10) and both cyclosporine and azathioprine 40% (N=12),Biologics (Adalimumab) 23.3% (N=7) was given. Initial BCVA-0.732 and final BCVA -0.456 .Vision improved in 33.3% cases (N=10), decreased in 30% (N=9).Conclusion-This study evaluates the features of BD and treatment response. A high index of suspicion leads to early diagnosis and treatment of BD
