Abstract
Aim: To report the clinical profile and outcome of extensive periocular Basal Cell Carcinoma.
Methods:This was a prospective case series studied over a 5 year period. All patients were evaluated for its location, metastasis and staging.Response of treatment and recurrence were assessed.Results: Out of 22 cases 50% were male .Two child had xeroderma pigmentosa.The predominant site was lower eyelid (18.18%),medical canthus (22.72%), both eyelid (13.64%).18.18% patients had multiple lesions and 3 cases were complicated by myiasis and leading to orbital invasion. 12 cases were managed by primary surgical excision with lid reconstruction and 6 patients were underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by. Exenteration was done in 4 cases. Recurrences was observed in 5 cases which was further managed by excision and radiotherapy. Conclusion: Management of extensive BCC is challenging . Myiasis can aggravate the condition. Multimodal treatment can helpful in extensive periocular BCC.
