Abstract
Method:This observational hospital based study was conducted in a tertiary care centre between January 2018 to February 2020.43 patients undergoing phacoemulsification with trabeculectomy were included in this study. In our study, we used a questionnaire based on 25-item National Eye Institute Visual Function Question, to determine QOL & level of satisfaction from surgical outcome.
Results: Study included 58 eyes(43 patients) out of which 40 were male and 18 were females. A reduction in number of anti glaucoma medications(p<0.01) was statistically significant. 86% were satisfied with operation outcome and 74% confirmed that overall quality of life improved after surgery. Conclusion: Evaluating QOL is a crucial component of glaucoma treatment.
