Abstract
Ocular Myiasis is a disease that leads to life threatening consequences owing to its intracranial extensions. It can have a myriad of presentations depending upon the type of fly, structures involved and level of penetration. We present a case of 25 year old female presented with extensive myiasis of Right Eye. On examination, the lids were edematous and ulcerated, conjunctiva grossly chemosed, cornea was clear, Pupils were Round, Regular Reacting to light. Gross infestation of maggots were seen in lids, palpebral conjunctiva and medial canthus. Entomological evaluation revealed that the maggots were the larvae of species Chrysomya bezziana. CT Orbit was normal. Serum electrolytes was deranged which got corrected during her hospital stay. Mechanical removal of larvae was done. Proper management with antibiotics, anti parasitic, mechanical removal of larvae, regular dressing and other supportive measures aided in rapid healing and overall improvement of the patient.
