Abstract

AIM: There are various reasons for the lens dislocation. Spontaneous dislocation of a clear lens is extremely rare, especially its dislocation to the anterior chamber. We report a case of bilateral spontaneous crystalline lens dislocation to the anterior chamber. METHODS: A 50yr old female presented with diminution of vision in both eye for 1month. RESULTS: Visual acuity of right eye was FCCF and of left eye was 1/60 and on slit-lamp examinations cataractous lens in the anterior chamber, without any sign of an elevated intraocular pressure, with bilateral ptosis and nystagmus. CONCLUSIONS: The case presented here shows that spontaneous displacement of the cataractous lens to the eye anterior chamber might happen at different times in both eyes. The intracapsular cataractous lens extraction of a displaced lens in the anterior chamber is recommended.
