Abstract

Many anecdotal ophthalmological complications of covid vaccines like AAION, AZOOR e.t.c are being reported worldwide. However, the crucial question of actual causation is unanswered. Covishield is in wide use in india with ~80% efficacy. Fever, headache are common complications however, serious ones are still under study. We report a case of 30 yr/F, who presented to us 7 days post vaccination with a 5 day history of sudden diminution of vision in both eyes. Clinical examination showed diffuse ocular inflammation, exudative RD with shifting fluid and choroidal thickening, also confirmed on imaging. A provisional diagnosis of Harada disease was made and high dose oral steroids were started which resolved her symptoms. At this juncture, the association was unclear. However it was justified by an acute flare up of uveitis on day 2 post 2nd dose of vaccination despite ongoing steroids. This is a rare association of Harada like syndrome with Covishield, hence prudent to be reported.
