Abstract
The coronicle (corona + cubicle) provides state-of-the-art features required for comprehensive ocular evaluation. Assembling this cubicle requires acrylic sheets, aluminium beading, adhesives and jigsaw cutting blade. Dimensions of the cubicle are 16*16*8 ft with a total area of only 256 sq. ft. Social distancing of 3 ft between machines, were incorporated while installing the gadgets within the cubicle. The cubicle encompasses slit-lamps, auto-refractometer, fundus device, OCT, optical biometry, manual keratometry, corneal topography and non-contact tonometer. Customised openings in the cubicle are made in front of each gadget for patient’s head and chin rest; and can be closed with sliding doors, during times of disuse. An acrylic groove is provided to accommodate the patient’s feet. Coronicle has helped instil, both patient and medical personal safety during COVID-19. In this paper, we have presented the economics involved & validated the usage of the cubicle for the past 16 months.
