Abstract
Aim:To study a rare case of atypical Cogan’s syndrome, its unusual presentation, diagnosis,management and treatment with importance of immunosuppressants and oral and topical steroids to prevent the relapsing and remitting course of disease. Materials and Methods:Multidisciplinary evaluation was performed and the ancillary tests excluded infections and autoimmune diseases. Diagnosis of exclusion helps.It was found patient had hearing loss, tinnitus and weight loss, isolated vasculitis. Diagnosis of exclusion helps here. Patient was treated with oral and topical steroids and immunosuppresants and regularly monitored. Discussion:Cogan’s syndrome is a diagnosis of exclusion. Therefore, it is necessary to exclude other causes. Conclusion:The multidisciplinary evaluation plays an important role for the early diagnosis.Time between onset of signs and symptoms and diagnosis directly influences the prognosis and the quality of life of the patient and immunosuppression plays important role.
