Corneal opacification is a major cause of blindness in developing countries and they are often associated with cataracts which contribute to the poor visual acuity. With a raging pandemic, the availability of corneal tissues for transplantation has hit an all-time low. Although corneal transplantation with cataract surgery would be the ideal treatment for these patients, some patients attain good vision with cataract surgery alone.Through this video, we would like to illustrate various surgical techniques which can be used in patients with corneal opacity and co existing cataract so as to provide them with ambulatory vision while they await corneal transplantation.
