Abstract
AIM: To study the common causes of secondary glaucoma
METHOD: During period 2019 to 2021 , 50 cases were examined. A detailed history regarding patients name, age, sex, occupation, symptoms ,duration, progression and associated condition will be recorded. Any previous history of injury, ocular surgery will be specifically asked. Any symptom in another eye will be recorded .Ocular examination included recording visual acuity with snellen`s chart, iop measurment with tonometry, detailed slit lamp examination, gonioscopy, fundus examination.
RESULT: Distribution of different etiologies of secondary glaucoma; LIG 16 cases (32%), pseudoexfoliation glaucoma 12 cases (24%),inflammatory 8 cases (16%), trauma 6 cases (12%), ocular surgery 6 cases (12%), adherent leucoma 2 cases (4%).
CONCLUSION: Secondary glaucoma most commonly caused by lens induced. It need to be diagnosed early , the mechanism causing iop elevation should be ascertained for proper treatment
