Abstract
AIM:To estimate the role of UBM in diagnosing the full thickness scleral flap
METHOD:This is a case report of a patient who was presented to glaucoma clinic with gradual diminution of vision over 2 years following trabeculectomy for JOAG.
Results: On examination, IOP was very low i.e in the range of 4-5 mm HG, Anterior chamber was shallow with iridocorneal touch inferiorly. Descemet’s membrane folds with corneal decompensation was noted which led to decrease in vision. There was no leak noticed on slit lamp examination. Therefore, Ultra biomicroscopy(UBM) was done to delineate the cause of hypotony, which then revealed an inadvertent full thickness scleral tear.
Conclusion:In view of the rarity and interesting clinical presentation, the case is being reported & the role of UBM in such scenarios of prolonged hypotony should not be underestimated.
