Abstract
AIM : To analyze the variation in CCT and IOP In patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome without glaucoma and to compare them with POAG patients and age matched normals, establishing their role in progression
Materials and methods: Case control cross sectional analytical study. 21 patients with PXF without glaucoma, POAG and aged matched normal included. CCT and IOP measurement was taken in all patients throughout the day and variances were noted within and across the groups.
Results: There was a larger statistically significant variance in the CCT of the PXF group as compared to the normal population . CCT was also thinner in the PXFG as compared to the normals. The variances in the POAG group and the PXF group though similar wasn’t significant. CCT was corelated with variances in IOP and was most significant in the PXFG.
Conclusion. There exists a fluctuation in CCT in PXF eyes which may cause progression to glaucoma and IOP measurement must be done cautiously.
