Abstract
AIM: Congenital glaucoma is an uncommon condition caused by genetically defined defects in the trabecular meshwork and anterior chamber angle, resulting in high intraocular pressure in the absence of other ocular or systemic developmental problems. We report a rare case of congenital glaucoma in 9yr young female. METHODS: A 9yr female presented with diminution of vision in right eye for last 2yr. RESULTS: On ocular examination her visual acuity was finger count at 1m in right eye and 6/6 in left eye .Anterior segment was normal in both eyes. On fundoscopy optic disc was glaucomatous with CD ratio 0.9 in right eye and 0.3 in left eye. CONCLUSIONS: She was diagnosed congenital glaucoma and underwent trabeculectomy in right eye after explaining visual prognosis.
