Abstract

AIM: A large percentage of glaucoma patients present late, especially in underdeveloped countries, and at an advanced stage of the illness. Glaucoma may be present without the knowledge of the patient. We presenting a case of accidental finding of complete loss of vision in one eye. Methods: A 60yr old male farmer presented with complete loss of vision in left eye. RESULTS: On slit-lamp iris surface loss its architecture and margin rough, mid dilated, non reactive to light and fundoscopy shows disc-well defined margin ,palor, CDR=0.9 and IOP was 36mmhg by Goldmann applannation tonometry. Conclusion: Absolute glaucoma is the end stage of all types of glaucoma. The eye has no vision, absence of pupillary light reflex and pupillary response. Generally associated with severe pain but in this case no history of pain. Patient was managed by topical as well as oral IOP lowering agents and advised for his right eye regular check-up.
