Abstract
PURPOSE:To report a case of mucormycosis in its earliest stage presenting with conjunctivitis (LE>RE). METHOD:A 48 Y/M presented with redness in BE LE >RE *10 days.H/o covid infection 20 days back,patient received O2 and steroid therapy.O/E LE mild edema of both lids and congestion more than right eye O/W BE A/S and fundus WNL. On high index of suspicion patient was advised MRI brain and orbit with contrast which showed erosion of medial wall of right orbit and bulky right MR.DNE was done and sample was sent for kOH mount which showed presence of mucormycosis . RESULTS: FESS and debridment done.patient was given i.v LAMB,moxiflox eye drops, posaconazole oral suspension. Patient showed significant improvement within two days CONCLUSION: incidence of mucormycosis after covid infection is increasing.It is therefore important to have high suspicion of mucormycosis with eye complaints as simple as conjunctivitis where early detection and management are vision saving and life saving
