Abstract
A 15 year old female presented with inward deviation of the left eye since childhood. Her BCVA was 6/6 in the right eye and 6/12p in the left eye with no significant refractive error. On evaluation she had 75 PD left esotropia with full and free movements. Patient was advised 3 muscle surgery but she was reluctant to get operated in the right eye. We did a 6.5 mm MR Recession and 10.5 mm LR Resection in the left eye. Patient improved to 8 PD ET with no limitation in ductions. At 6 months follow up patient had 4 PD ET with good ductions. This case shows that supramaximal recession-resection can be a good alternative to 3 muscle surgery in selected cases and no significant limitation of ductions occur even with supramaximal doses.
