Abstract
A Case of Neurofibromatosis
PURPOSE:To present case of Neurofibromatosis.
METHOD:A 9 year old male child presented with complaints of swelling over the left side of the neck not associated with pain since 9 months and was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis.Patient had a past history of TB and has completed the course of anti tubercular therapy.No significant family history.He was referred from Paediatric Department for Ophthalmic examination to rule out any ocular findings suggestive of Neurofibromatosis.
RESULT:On examination vision was 6/6 in both eyes. Anterior segment under slit lamp showed multiple lisch nodules over the iris in both the eyes.Dilated Fundus examination was normal. Multiple hyperpigmented skin lesions were present all over the back and axillary freckles were noted. FNAC report confirms Neurofibromatosis.
CONCLUSION:Early Diagnosis can help in focusing the treatment in healthy growth and development of children and also early management of complications .
