Abstract
INTRODUCTION
Ocular toxoplasmosis is non curable infectious disease caused by parasite Toxoplasma gondii and probably the most common cause of posterior segment infection in many countries. It primarily affects the retina and manifests as chorioretinitis and posterior uveitis.
CASE PRESENTATION
In this study 2 cases of active ocular toxoplasmosis with Visual acuity acuity 6/6 and N6 . On dilated examination vitritis with active toxo chorioretinitis and Scar was seen . Patient was treated with standard Bactrim DS ( Sulfamethoxazole 800mg + Trimethoprim 160mg ) and oral steroid( 1mh/kh body weight) and followed up at regular intervals. After 1 month complete resolution of vitritis and healing of active chorioretinitis patches was seen.
CONCLUSION
Standard treatment with Tab Bactrim DS and Oral Steroids help in resolution of active ocular toxoplasmosis
