Abstract
Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR), a pachychoroid disease is one of the most common cause of medical retinopathy. Although Acute CSCR is a benign and self-limiting condition , approximately 30–50% of patients experience a recurrence and 5–10% of cases can progress to chronic CSC which is characterized by fibrinous or exudative subretinal fluid and diffuse pigment epitheliopathy . These changes are usually progressive leading to irreversible tissue damage and grave visual outcome. Mineralocorticoid receptors (MR) antagonist drug like eplerenone has been proposed as a treatment option for chronic CSCR which has benefit of selective action with minimizing sex hormone related adverse side effect and thus suitable for long term use. In this case series we will show the beneficial effect of oral Eplerenone in three patients with chronic CSCR in terms of improvement in OCT parameters as well as visual outcome.
