Abstract
A 47 year old male presented with history of diminution of vision in left eye following a road traffic accident, with left clavicular fracture and right forearm fracture. On examination , visual acuity was OD 6/9 and OS 3/60. Anterior segment examination of both eyes was normal . Fundus examination of left eye showed multiple cotton wool spots near the disc and around the superior and inferior arcades , superficial haemorrhages near the disc, vascular tortuosity ,macular edema and and an absent foveal reflex. Fundus examination of right eye was normal. OCT of left eye revealed retinal thickening. Patient was treated with injection IV Methylprednisolone for three days followed by oral prednisolone with tapering of dose weekly. At the end of 13 weeks, visual acuity in left eye improved to 6/9 with complete resolution of fundus changes. This case is presented for its rarity.
