Abstract
Two serving soldiers of 35 years age, no comorbidities, had sudden painful loss of vision. First case had decreased vision right eye following 5 days of descent from High-Altitude with BCVA CFCF with accurate PR and raised IOP. FFA revealed Ischemic CRVO with macular edema. Managed aggressively with antiglaucoma drugs followed by Anti-VEGF and PRP. Despite all measures, vision dropped to PL-positive and PR-inaccurate, IOP remained increased and eventually, he had Ahmed glaucoma valve surgery. Similarly, another case was in high altitude for 1 year presented with decreased vision left eye for 2 months. Vision was 6/24 and had Non-ischemic CRVO on FFA. Revealed hyper-homocysteinemia as well. Presently, both cases are on regular follow-up. Conclusion: Though studies showed that younger age may be a protective factor against development of NVG in CRVO, young patient with risk-factor should be followed closely. People with prolonged high-altitude exposure require frequent eye evaluations.
