Abstract
Aim:Evaluating changes in corneal thickness & topographic indices post HPMC Collagen CrossLinking(CXL) in keratoconus(KC) pts with pachy<400um & analyse associations of these changes with visual acuity.Methods:Prospective,comparative,interventional study,where 20 eyes of 20 KC patients underwent HPMC-UVA induced CXL(pre-op cornea swollen with HPMC),BCVA,CCT,APEX PACHY,THINNEST PACHY,KI,KM assessed & analysed pre &6months post CXL.Outcome:stability of ectasia in respect to CCT,K reading,Pachy with BCVA.Result:Mean age of pt 22.45yrs,male:female=9:11,mean pre-op CCT= 385.05+/-13.26 &postCXL 381.30+/-20.17(p=0.078),thinnest pachy=399.95+/-28.70 preOp &postOp 391.18+/-30.82(p=0.08),apex pachy 410.40+/-24.26 preOp & 407.12+/-34.22 post,Topo K preOp 64.99+/-28.78 & postOp 65.64+/-6.03(p=0.08).No significant change in Apex pachy,K-reading.BCVA & SPM were stable.Though no significant diffs in topo K & Km in 6months these 2 remain stable.Conclusion:HPMC CXL is safe & effective in ectatic cornea
