Abstract
Aim:To study the impact of online vision therapy(VT) on functional vision of children with multiple disabilities(MD). Method:Retrospective analysis of functional vision of 15 children with MD under in-office VT,who subsequently adopted online VT during 2nd wave.Grating visual acuity(VA)&contrast sensitivity(CS) were measured during each visit.Parents were given questionnaires to assess their perception of online VT.Results:Mean age-4years.Due to discontinuity of in -office VT during 1st wave, there was statistically significant deterioration of VA(P = 0.012).CS decreased from baseline value(P=0.045).Upon lockdown relaxation,in-office VT was resumed and resulted in VA improvement(P=0.009).During 2nd wave, online VT was initiated and maintenance of VA & CS was observed. The results from questionnaire gave insight into parents’ supportive approach. Conclusion:Online VT plays important role in maintenance of functional vision which is needed for overall development of children with MD
