Abstract
Retro fixation of iris claw IOL in Aphakic patients is an effective and safe procedure with good visual outcome and less complications. However good pupillary constriction is essential to perform this technique as the diameter of the iris claw IOL is 8 mm and optic diameter is 5.50 mm. Single pass four throw pupilloplasty is an excellent technique to reconstruct the shape and size in a deformed pupil. In an aphakic patient with dilated and fixed pupil, SFT pupilloplasty was performed with 9-0 Polyprolene suture, following which the pupil became round and 4mm in size. Retro fixation of iris claw IOL was done with an excellent iris support. Combining SFT pupilloplasty and iris claw IOL in traumatic and deformed iris with inadequate capsular support could be the choice of procedure for anterior segment surgeons with no vitreoretinal surgeon backup.
