Abstract

A 8 year old girl presented with a history of tiny white worms coming out of her left lower punctum. On examination of left eye, her visual acuity was 6/6 with mild mucupurulent discharge. The left nasolacrimal duct was patent and fundus was within normal limits. The right eye was normal. While hospitalization, fresh worms came out of her left eye. Her blood eosinophile count was high although no eggs, ovas or cysts were found in stool. The patient was treated with topical antibiotic eyedrops and syringing of nasolacrimal duct with gentamicin was done. Oral Albendazole was prescribed after consultation with Paediatrician. The patient was cured and sent home after 7days of hospitalization and called for followup.
