Abstract
INTRODUCTION:CCF is the result of an abnormal vascular connection between internal carotid artery or external carotid artery and venous channels of cavernous sinus. It can be direct(ICA and cavernous sinus) or indirect(meningeal branches of ICA/ECA and cavernous sinus). The etiology can be traumatic or spontaneous.CASE REPORT:A 40 year old male presented with redness and protrusion of right eyeball since 1 week. There is a history of road traffic accident 1 month back.On examination of right eye, pulsatile proptosis with bruit is present with conjunctival congestion, dilated tortuous vessels in conjunctiva and lagophthalmos with inferior exposure keratopathy is present with relative afferent pupillary defect with normal color vision with raised IOP(33mmHg).Cerebral angiogram showed Rt carotid cavernous fistula Barrow type A with a rent in distal genu of Rt cavernous ICA.Endovascular coil embolization of CCF was done.Post op period was uneventful with decrease in proptosis and congestion.
