Abstract
Introduction
Pachydermoperiostosis (PDP) is a rare genetic disorder that affects both bones and skin. We are describing a rare case of PDP associated with ptosis in an adult male.
Case description
A 32-year-old male presented with complaints of redness and swelling of both the upper eyelids followed by progressive drooping for the last 3 years with no history of diurnal variation, double vision, trauma or any previous surgery. On examination visual acuity was 6/6, N6 in both eyes. Marginal reflex distance was −1 mm in both eyes with excellent levator action. In both upper lids , thickness was diffuse and on eversion multiple follicles on both upper palpebral conjunctiva raging from 0.5cm to 0.7 cm . There was pachydermia of forehead and scalp, with deep forehead furrows. Meibomian gland orifices were blocked and appeared flat. Excision biopsy was done and generalised chronic inflammation was reported on histology . A diagnosis of PDP was formed.
