Abstract
Method: Prospective non-randomized comparative study. 40eyes from 20pts each Gr with Senile Cataract. Binocular Results: 3 mths post op UCDVA& BCDVA comparable(p=.07& p= .15). UCIVA(mean diff=.26, p=.000, 95%CI -.31,-.21) and DCIVA (m diff.=-.20, p=.000,CI -.25,-.01) at 66cm significant. UCIVA mean diff-.18, p=.000, 95%CI -.23, -.13) &DCIVA (m diff.-.20,p=.025, 95%CI -.25, -.15) at 50cm significant. UCNVA(mean diff = -.20, p=.000,95%CI -.25,-.15) and DCNVA (m diff. -.22, p=.000, 95%CI -.31, .13) at 40cm significant. Binocular defocus curve is significantly better in Gr2 at -1.5D, -2D, 2.5D p=.00. Post op reading speed at 66cm Gr2 X² =6.86, p=.008, 95%CI (10%, 61%). dysphotopsia (QUVID) comparable (p>.05). Intermediate distance spectacle independence in bright light at 66cm ( diff. prop=20%,p=.03) &dim light (diff.prop =30%,p= .02) significant.Contrast comparable
Conclusion: Intermediate and near activities significantly better in Novel Non diffractive EDOF IOL in bright and dim light.
