Abstract
Aim : To determine diagnostic capability of GCC thickness and RNFL thickness using SD-OCT in POAG and its association with visual fields.
Materials and Methods: 90 Participants who were above 18 years of age with characteristic visual field and glaucomatous disc changes with IOP more than 21mmHg and open angles were included in the study. They were then subjected to SD-OCT scanning.
Results : The average age of presentation was 55.63 ± 12.571 years. AUROC curves determined the sensitivity and specificity as 70.8% and 99.2% respectively for GCC thickness and 82.7% and 91.7% respectively for RNFL thickness. ANOVA test and Post-Hoc test determined the association with Visual Fields with a p value of <0.001 at a confidence interval of 95%. Conclusion : Both average GCC thickness and average RNFL thickness are equipotent in diagnosing POAG and have significant association with the visual field changes in POAG making them a potential tool for pre-perimetric diagnosis and for follow up.
