Abstract
Retrospective observational study of 102 eyes. 53 eyes underwent the implantation as primary and 49 eyes as secondary procedure. 32 eyes were excluded due to pre-existing pathologies and/or follow up of less than 1 month duration. 70 eyes were included and analysed for final visual outcome, IOL stability and posterior segment complications. The average follow up period was 12.05 months. Mean gain in BCVA was 0.84+/- 0.53 logMAR units. In the immediate post-operative period anterior segment complications included corneal edema (5.7%), iritis (14.2%) and raised IOP (17.1%) and ovalization of pupil (12.8%), IOL disenclavation(2.8%). Posterior segment complication noted during the follow ups were CME (4.2%), retinal detachment (4.2%), Vitreous haemorrhage (2.8%) and ERM (7.1%). Posterior fixation of Iris claw lens is found to be an effective, faster and safe option for eyes with compromised capsular support.
