Abstract

The Microcornea-cataract-secondary glaucoma co-morbidity with White to White dimensions of less than 9 mm is a situation where high intra-ocular pressures and glaucomatous Optic Neuropathy may already be present along with developmental cataract or may follow cataract surgery; the eye would be at added risk of secondary glaucoma and progressive damage, if Intra-ocular Lens under consideration were the ones designed for the eye with normal White to White dimensions of 12 mm.

We modified the Closed Loop foldable IOL model available with us by modification of haptics; the outer part of the closed loop of haptics chopped off and to convert it into an IOL with overall diameter of 9 mm with open C-loop design. The modified IOL was implanted with ease into the inflated capsular bag with the 2.8 mm injector with use of Sodium Hyaluronate 2% viscoelastic support.
