Abstract

Introduction:

Uveitis is defined as inflammation of uveal tissue. Classification based on the duration of uveitis was based on standardization of uveitis Nomenclature (SUN). Anterior uveitis involves inflammation of iris (iritis), Anterior part of ciliary body (anterior cyclitis) or both (iridocyclitis).

Materials and Method:

A prospective study of 100 patients were included in the study. Patients were evaluated on the basis of clinical history, details of ocular examination, ophthalmoscopic examination, investigations, diagnosis and systematic disease associations.

Results:

This study showed that it is idiopathic, unilateral, non granulomatous, most common in 20-40 yrs male, labourers with less complications.

Conclusion:

Anterior uveitis is common ocular condition. Majority of anterior uveitis patients respond to medical treatment.
