Abstract
Stereopsis plays an important role in our day-to-day activities. In this study ,we examined 170 young adults in the age group of 18-30 years. Their ophthalmic evaluation was done, including assessment of strabismus, noting the type and amount of strabismus with a prism bar cover test. Further, their stereopsis was assessed using a RANDOT stereotest. A Stereopsis of more than 100 seconds of an arc were seen in 84 patients, with most of them having esophoria. Among the 84 patients, 15 patients had a stereopsis of more than 500 seconds of an arc. Therefore, measuring stereopsis as a routine , even in patients without a manifest strabismus is necessary, as it can have a significant impact on depth perception which can therefore have an impact on skilled work.
