Abstract
Aim-To evaluate the effects of high myopia on AC angle after pharmacological mydriasis in patients with cataract using AS-OCT.
Method- A prospective cross sectional Study was done from june 20 to July 21 involving patients with cataract aged>40 yrs. The anterior segment parameters AC depth (ACD), angle opening distance(AOD),angle recess area(ARA), Trab-iris space area(TISA), Trab-iris angle(TIA),angle to angle width(ATA) & AC volume (ACV) were taken using AS-OCT before & 30 minutes after mydriasis.
Results-400 pts(400 eyes) were studied. AOD 500 reduced from 0.46+/- 0.22 to 0.40+/-0.19(p=0.05). Patients with high myopia had less reduction of AC angle parameters than non myopic eyes. Less reduction of AOD 500 was associated young age ,high myopia, high baseline TISA 500 & ATA.
Conclusion- AC angle reduced after pharmacological mydriasis in patients with cataract. Angle narrowing after pharmacological mydriasis was significantly less in high myopic eyes than in non high myopic eyes.
