Abstract
A 58 year old man presented with swelling in Left eye (LE) with foreign body sensation and discharge for 30 days. Patient underwent evisceration in LE 25 years ago, but the cause was not known. On examination, a fungating mass in LE involving both eyelids noted with size 4cmx3cmx2cm (approximately), irregular shape, irregular margins, rough surface, firm consistency, non-tender with telengiectasia. Submandibular and preauricular lymph nodes (LN) were palpable. CT scan orbits showed enhancing mass in LE with calcific foci involving the eyelids, lateral rectus and lacrimal glands. Incisional biopsy of mass showed moderately differentiated verrucous squamous cell carcinoma. FNAC of LN revealed atypical cells. After consulting with Oncologist, EBRT with X-rays of 200Gy for 25 cycles was given. Evisceration is often a neglected surgery, thus it is important to send the intraocular contents after evisceration for HPE and follow the patient regularly.
